Welcome to the opening of the exhibition "Tracing Roots", exhibiting works by Myriam Borst.

Myriam Borst's work is inspired by the idea of finding your origin or roots. You can investigate this in different ways, such as tracing the family lines, i.e. tracing your ancestors who have gone before you.

Then, assuming one can experience or sense what is stored in the unconscious, that what has happened or remained hidden for up to at least 7 generations back can still influence one's (re)actions , moods and life in this moment, both positively or negatively.

Moreover, the earth shows its traces in the variety of landscapes and civilizations, which refer to the different eras with divers climates and other ways of living.

And then again earth is part of the cosmos with all its solar systems, of which the origin appears to be untraceable, but rather continually seems to dissolve  ad infinitum.

Myriam Borst uses different "mediums" to come closer to the subject.
