Sortland jazz- og viseklubb har den glede å invitere til plateslipp for Oddmund Finnseths første soloalbum! Musikken Oddmund kommer ut med nå er noe av det ypperste innen nordisk jazz.

Musikk som fremmer moderne swing, med klare røtter i de store jazzmusikernes kunstverden (NHØP, John Coltraine, Ray Brown) - samt at han tar inn latin og brasilianske rytmer - alt for å kunne bevege publikum. Musikken er kjærlighet satt til toner. Låtene er dedikert til familie, venner, kjente og kjære i Oddmunds liv. Han har prøvd å beskrive dem han holder nærmest. Sitt barnebarn, sin kone - sønnene med flere.

This album is Oddmund Jarle Finnseth’s first release under his own name. It is an anthology of original compositions spanning much of Finnseth’s musical career up to the present and is inspired by a desire to document and commemorate various ‘states of mind’ and inner expressions. The commonality in these tunes is that they are all labours of love, all gifts of the heart and all glimpses into the soul. These tunes are snapshots from life, from different times and events and with reference to different meaningful persons in the composer’s life. As states of the soul, the songs are celebrations of relationships and of a joyful means of expressing relationships, through music.  Music is the medium, but what is essential is invisible to the eye. Finnseth shares his heart, and via the heart, we see clearly – right to the core of Oddmund Finnseth.

Det som er ekstra flott med denne konsertaftenen er at Oddmund har med flere av musikerne som er å høre på plata med seg - Roger Johansen på trommer (Henning Gravrok, Bodø Big Band, Halvdan Sivertsen m. flere), Øystein Norvoll - gitar (Randy Johnston, Marit Sandvik, Jon Gorden), Roy Nikolaisen med flygelhorn og trompet (Halvdan Sivertsen, Sharp 9, Rino Arbore Quartet) & Håvard Fossum (Nominert til spellemannspris i 2007, spilt med bla. Fossunm - Aarum Quartet, Sharp 9 & Funky Butt).
